From January to April this year, the number of products suitable for aging increased significantly, with 28700 new products added, a year-on-year increase of 255.2%. Specifically, walking aids such as canes, wheelchairs, and scooters have shown explosive growth driven by policies, providing strong guarantees for convenient travel and improved quality of life for the elderly. There are 6000 new types of walking aids added, a year-on-year increase of 1032.1%.

From a regional distribution perspective, as of the end of April, the number of aging friendly products in the eastern, central, western, and northeastern regions was 204000, 9000, 2000, and 1000, respectively, showing an uneven regional development. The proportion of aging friendly products in the eastern region of China is 94.4%, mainly distributed in Zhejiang Province, Jiangsu Province, and Guangdong Province. These regions have strong manufacturing foundations and supply chain advantages, and are production bases for aging friendly products such as medical devices and rehabilitation equipment in China.
As of the end of 2024, the population aged 60 and above in China has reached 310 million, accounting for 22% of the total population, and the degree of aging continues to deepen. The overall data shows that although the growth rate of aging friendly products is significant, there are still significant shortcomings in the supply scale and population base, and the market development space is considerable.
